Ahoy!

I pulled this little number out to wear to my friends birthday on saturday. I have had it for ages; everytime I wear it feels like the first time.

Catch up...

I have been a bit absent the last few weeks so I thought I would quickly show you what I have been up to in pictures.

Happy Birthday Tbo
It was my friend Teena's 30th Birthday, she is the last one of my close group of friends to turn the big 3-0. There was lots of wine, dancing and these ....

Last Saturday night I went for a while to my friend Chris aka 'Claudes' stag do, yes you read that right, a girl on a stag do! I have been good friends with Claude for a long time and was invited to join him to celebrate his prenuptials. His weekend away though is strictly boys only! I didn't cramp his style for too long, leaving the boys do what boys do!

With a very drunk stag
I then had to drive and stay in Portland last week for work. I assisted many of the Olympic sailing teams to get their equipment ready and loaded to go back to their home nations. One highlight of my trip was watching the closing ceremony with part of the Brazilian sailing team, and seeing them proudly take the Olympic baton for Rio 2016

Up on Portland, in the middle of this picture you can just about make out the Olympic village

The Brazilian teams equipment

I have barely had time to do any shopping as you see, thank god for the world of online stores :)

If you fancy nosing at what else I have been getting up to, you can view my photo a day HERE.

Big hair, don't care

Now I am no stranger to big hair so when the PR agency for John Frieda got in touch about kindly letting me sample some of their products I chose to try their new volume and repair range

This is a mousse based product, best applied to damp hair, once I applied some heat to my roots, I was up, up and away! The Root-boosting formula with Inca Inchi Oil provides heat protection, helps prevent breakage from styling and is a great idea for colour treated hair. That ticks all my boxes.

I sadly didn't find this product that great on my hair, I would opt for the above foam root lift over this, my hair very easily gets wirey and this gave my the consistency that made it hard for the brush to work through my hair when blow drying.

This is my favourite product of them all, it works very much like a dry shampoo, but gives fantastic lift, I will be sure to repurchase this.
It recreates volume at the roots, great for fine hair or if you have just washed your hair but are going to pin it up and need a extra bit of volume and staying power. It's also a great size at 125ml to pop in your handbag if you're out after work or need an extra bit of va va voom!

New to John Frieda's Full Repaire Range Full Repair Range  is this Style Creator Heat-Activated Styling Spray. This is another pre-styling spay, intended to be added to towel dried hair, also containing Inca Inchi Oil, to improve manageability and assists with long-lasting hold. The bonus is it also provides heat protection, so our over worked locks gets a bit of a rest.

This held my signature bob well, keeping the sleek tucked shape that I like all day and I am a mover and a shaker, haha.

Friday Fun And Going For Gold

What a evening! Like most of Great Britain I have been glued to the Olympic Athletics. Well done Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford, who all stormed to victory, each bringing home a gold medal, you are amazing inspirations to us all. I'm so proud to be British!

I try not to go out drinking on Friday night now as I just find it far too much after a full on week of work, I must be getting old, but lately it seems to be getting more frequent again. Those of you who follow me on Twitter will have noticed the increase of "Ouch have a hangover" tweets on a Saturday morning!

Friday was my sister-in-laws birthday so the J├Ągermeister wine flowing. I wore my new 'kisses' dress from ASOS.com I loved it, it was so comfortable and as Autumn / Winter comes I think it will look good layered up and dressed down.

Ooh La La

Whilst waiting in a rather lengthy Primark queue I spied these little spotty press on nails. They are being sold for a grand sum of a £1.00!  Normally they are not something I wouldn't really wear but for the price I thought "In for a penny in for a pound"... haha sorry bad pun!

Pros
Quick
Cheap

Cons
Very thin and flimsy
Did ping off quickly
They don't look very good if you try and file them down

I think you pay for what you get with these, and who can moan for £1.00. They are a great idea if you want them for just one night as something a bit playful but they are not really build to last for much more than that. I would maybe buy again but look forward to seeing if they bring out a larger selection of designs.
