Handmade Fashion Magazine Launch

Thursday night I attended the launch of a new magazine called 'Handmade Fashion' a new publication from All Craft Media. It plans to be a quarterly magazine specialising in all that is handmade and vintage.

Having a read of the complimentary copy that I was given, I'm quite impressed, the pages are gorgeous and glossy and have items you can make such as pencil skirts.

The launch was held in the quirky little bar called Hooga where you can drink cocktails from teapots and tea cups. We were treated to a fashion show, hair styling and dancing.

Here's what I wore

Dress - ASOS
Shoes - NEXT

I met Johanna from Charming Grace Jewellery who had a stall at the launch and I bought the below beautiful handmade bracelet. I have tiny wrists and Johanna altered the bracelet 3 times for me to ensure that it fitted perfectly, what service!

Rose Patricia Millinery was there for us to try on some of her hats.

Wantsie Wednesday - 18/4

How's everyone's week been? I had a great weekend, we all went down to Brighton to support our two friends Nicola and Jenny who ran the Marathon. I was so immensely proud of them both for their achievement and the amount they both raised for the charity 'Mind' Well done ladies!

So here's this weeks lust list.

Dita Von Teese Perfume Launch

As you are all aware, as I bleat on about it far too much I love Dita Von Teese.

What wouldn't I give to spend a few minutes in that women's presence,  so when I found out she is releasing her first perfume my heart skips, skips a beat in the words of Olly Murs.

The fragrance is set to be released exclusively at Liberty of London on 1st May.

Dita has been quoted saying “I wanted it to be a perfume that smelled exactly how I imagined it. A scent needs to reflect all the different facets of my personality. It had to be elegant, glamorous, sophisticated, sexy, dark, and mysterious.”

The fragrance is said to have hints of fresh peonies, fizzy bergamot, and slightly spicy Bourbon pepper

I am super excited to buy this and see if the sent oozes sex appeal just like our very own Miss Tesse! I will try my hardest to meet Dita as she will be at Liberty for the launch, I can see an early morning coming up to wait in line!

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing...

Happy Easter everyone! Have you been gorging on Easter eggs all weekend? Mr UB bought me a Muppets one, I was thrilled, nothing better than Muppets and chocolate!

For those of you that follow me on twitter you will know that I started to learn to Lindy hop and Jive last year. I have been really enjoying it and now able to be a little more confidient to social dance.
Last night I went to a JiveSwing event held in Essex.
I managed, very painfully to put my hair into reverse victory rolls  for the first time.

Here's what I wore and a few action shots of me dancing -

Dress River Island Via Ebay
Shoes - Unknown

This is rather dark but showcases the standard of dance from some of my peers.

3 Apr 2012

Hey everyone, what happened to our spring sunshine? I was startng to enjoy some much needed sun. :(

I am fairly lucky and have always had pretty good skin, fortunately I never suffered with acne as a teen, however in the last year I have noticed that my skin is less even in tone and more spot prone. I understand that many adults suffer with their skin and it's not something that is just hormonal teenagers have problems with.

I took the recommendation from a fellow beauty blogger who was using the Vichy Range and tried their Normaderm Cleansing Gel It's been part of my daily skin care routine along with Soap and Glory's Scrub Your Nose In'it for about a year now and I have seen an improvement. Before that I had tried the 'Garnier A' range, it was  just awful, I was plagued by spots  which then went on to scar my skin.

My friend Jodie has the most naturally beautiful skin, now I am sure this is a lot to do with good genes but she has never put a great deal of skin care products on her face. She swears by Dove soap and a bit of moisturiser. Keep it simple she says! So I am following her lead and have ditched the above products and swapped them for Dove soap and a facial brush.

Now I know lots of people say you shouldn't put soap on your skin but 3 weeks in, no breakouts and my skin isn't dry. So lets see how it goes! I will report back.
What is your fail safe skin care product?
